A magnificent vintage, often compared to the already great 2018, but quite a few predict an even greater future for the 2022 vintage. In terms of elegance and finesse, it's certainly among the best we've seen in recent years. The 2022 presents itself as incredibly refined, dense, and rich. The highly concentrated nose offers plenty of black cherry, elderberry, and very ripe raspberry. These are then playfully joined by some licorice and sweetwood.
White wine
The Wittmann Westhofener Riesling 2024 is a dry white wine with aromas of yellow fruit, citrus, stone, and mint. It is characterized by a concentrated yet delicate texture, crystalline precision, and cool, elegant acidity.
Red wine
Like its big brother, ALTEO, the grapes come from the excellent vineyards in the hinterland of Fumane. Not quite as opulent as this, but finer, more elegant, and somewhat less influenced by new oak.
Red wine
A typical Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits. It presents itself with slightly animal notes, featuring aromas of forest floor and black currant.
Beguiling bouquet of black forest berries, a hint of sea buckthorn, nuances of licorice and some orange zest.
White wine
The Weedenborn Grande Réserve combines Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay—Weedenborn's two main grape varieties—in a single blend.
